The Chocolate Cabin...

Centrally located in Western NC to many attractions, you have the beauty of being 15-20 mins to amazing downtown Asheville, Biltmore Estate and 45 minutes to Wolf Ridge Ski Resort and tons of other attractions all less than an hour away.

Some Unique features of The Chocolate Cabin is that guests are in an actual log cabin, built from trees off the property by the original owner. The use of walking trails, and several acres of land, fire pits and a huge patio, as well as the scenic mountain and valley views make for a wonderful experience so you never feel confined to just a city lot.

The Space

This 1950 true log home is ideally situated just 15 minutes north from the #1 tourist destination of 2017 in the U.S., the amazing brew capital city of Asheville, NC!

Boasting 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a wonderful sun room / sleeping porch with a fold out modern sofa, comfortable for two to sleep on, the Chocolate Cabin can easily accommodate 8 guests. Each bedroom has a queen size bed, while the sleeping porch/ sun room bed is full sized. Additionally each bedroom has a TV for your use.

Completely remodeled through out, yet preserving some of the old cabin charm, mixed with eclectic style and modern conveniences, this cabin will indeed surprise you! The large living room / dining room combination can handle your entertaining and relaxing needs with a 50" TV, and you can build a cozy fire in the stone fireplace to keep away the winter blues. The retro 1950s kitchen has newly vaulted ceilings and amazing views of the rolling valley and mountains, as well as a full additional dining table for up to 6 if you want to keep meals causal. Feel free to sip your morning coffee and open the double 8' tall french doors and take in the mountain views.

In case you have an extended stay there is a laundry room downstairs as needed off the back sun room.

For your outside enjoyment there is a large half moon terrace with an outdoor seating area, dining table with umbrella, modern gas grill, and outdoor fireplace. This abuts the raised hot tub platform overlooking the terrace with views of the majestic mountains and rolling valley hills. The hot tub will accommodate 4 adults with a maximum temperature of 104 degrees, and has a small changing room directly next to it for the ease of changing in extreme weather. Further beyond the terrace lie a few short walking trails throughout the woods behind the house and barn, great for just a stroll, or maybe a quick jog. Behind the barn you will find a private fire pit which is included in the rental of the cabin. Feel free to use it as long as no active open burn ban is currently in affect.

If wondering why we call it The Chocolate Cabin, if the outside color doesn't give it away, then just know that upon check in you will find some chocolate placed around the house. For the chocolate fans there is easy access to amazing (Decadent) chocolates from the wonderful Asheville based "French Broad Chocolate Lounge" located in downtown Asheville.

And just like any property in a more rural setting, we have an abundance of wildlife on the property and just passing through. Including deer, ground hogs, and the like, so just be aware when walking the property :)!!!

The chocolate cabin is so tastefully decorated. We had a wonderful time being tucked away in the mountains. We didn’t leave the House because it had basically everything we needed for a little weekend getaway during covid. I loved all the chocolate there and the warm beds and the bathrooms.
